Priceline 40% Off Cosmetics Favourites

I’ve become a bit of a makeup snob recently because I love an excuse to spend on makeup that has cute packaging and I also just really like shopping at Mecca. The more money I earn the more ridiculously expensive makeup items I convince myself that I NEED but I also cannot resist a sale so the Priceline 40% off sales always drag me back in.

I always use these sales as a cheaper way to find a hidden, cheaper gem, or give those cult ‘drug store’ cosmetics a shot. So I’ll cut to the chase, these are the winners from the stuff I bought.

Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation

The cushion foundation trend freaks me out and seems a bit like the product wouldn’t go very far. After using it, the packaging does still confuse me as I made it work for me by tipping my makeup brush right onto the cushion and buffing it into the skin, so pretty much the way I apply any other kind of foundation. The formula is actually super sheer, buildable and glowy and is great for a natural looking, dewy finish. What is slightly concerning though is that I purchased the darkest shade stocked in Priceline and I’m not particularly that tanned at the moment so this would definitely be a foundation suited to fairer girls. Despite the glowy finish this did last through the day with a light powder set. I definitely think I’ll be using this on my weekends off work to even out my skin tone.

Revlon Touch and Glow Face Powder

I have this issue where I like a dewy makeup look but I have combination/oily skin and generally need long wearing foundation. I’m a pain in the ass, I know. I’m not willing to compromise on this just yet so I’m constantly on the lookout for setting powders to set my makeup with and help maintain my foundation through the day. I have no idea why I picked this one up in particular because I did’t even know if came in two shades (got No.2 FYI) but I’m so glad I did. Just the smallest swipe of this really does leave your skin super velvety, helps prevent transferring of product and really adds that extra level skin perfecting to give you a flawless complexion. Unfortunately the size of this product doesn’t really work for you to chuck in a clutch bag, but it should last pretty much forever.

L’Oreal Matte Priming Base

Honestly love this stuff. It’s not quite as mattifying as I expected in the sense that my skin feels really soft and hydrated after priming, quite liberally, with this stuff. I’ve found that even with reasonably dewy finish foundations, my usually combination/ oily skin actually stayed dewy rather than oily which is literally a dream come true.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

This isn’t news to anyone that has read a makeup blog before, but I am pleasantly surprised by this product. I hate the bottle because it’s easy to over do it and use too much makeup but apart from that this is a great foundation particularly for the price. I’d say it’s medium to high buildable coverage with good staying power. Honestly Maybelline are killing the game when it comes to super affordable, well formulated foundations.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

I’m all about bold, natural looking eyebrows and this stuff is great. I get Dark Brown to add a bit of extra tint. Most days I will fill in any gaps with a pencil, but when I’m not doing a full face or when I’m going to the gym (I’ve been going to the gym for like 3 weeks, am I entitled to say shit like that yet?) a swipe of this is perfect to set my brows and give them a bit of extra definition.

Obviously it was quite a Maybelline heavy post but they are really doing great things with affordable makeup, making it a whole lot cheaper to look cute.
